This Federal Government is addicted to cruelty and it's at odds with the values of decent Australians, that is the governments problem here.
The Howard Government with far more numbers quietly resettled most of the detainees, but this incarnation ain't a patch on Howard's Government, that's also the Governments problem here. I think most people no longer care about the details, they just wan't this Federal Government to not be so mean spirited and nasty.
For Morrison's haphazard Government it's just a question of which straw will break the camels back. And there are so so many straws with these bunglers. In the end Morrison will go with what saves his political skin.
