yeah, I would have thought the first principle of cooking was to produce something edible - if you can't even do that what's the point - but it seems to me that most 'restaurants' are more concerned with appearance than actually providing food.... that's why you pay through he nose for a tiny portion of crap you wouldn't even normally recognise as food in many restaurants - all a big con when you consider it all comes out of filthy kitchens you wouldn't let a dog eat in....
