Well, a simple answer is that if the US is subsidizing the defense of the EU (which it was) to the tune of 100s of billions of hard-earned US taxpayers money and from the Russkies...to then have no say in how the EU then works with Russia to the enrichment of Russia and the detriment of the US vis-a-vis the pipeline, is a no brainer. Only a weak and ineffectual POTUS without thought to the best interests of the country would NOT take such action. Step up, Mr Biden. What a pussy
And he had every right to impose whatever sanctions he wanted...if the EU were hell-bent on the pipeline...they could proceed and wear the consequences. They didnt.
