The gold they expected to find wasn't found in the expected quantities where they expected to find it.
Additionally, a healthy gold hedge of $2674/oz over the past (12) months wasn't high enough to prevent a substantial drop in share price for various reasons.
There's a possibility things might improve when Stage (1) becomes operational...only time will tell.
