Doctor. " you have a breathing issue, sore throat?"
Here breath into my phone with this diagnostic app, "holy mackerel you have some serious issues going on with your lungs according to the app"
Let me get my stethoscope out and have a listen "umm does not seem so bad, more like a common cold"
Doctor. "I am not sure now, the phone says you have a problem, maybe we better get a series of tests done I have got to protect my backside, because if you do have a lung condition and I do not use the data from the phone - you could sue me.
Let's arrange all the follow-up tests"
Results come back - the common cold.
.....and who pays nothing or provides any follow-up analysis service for the patient - the app provider
and who accepts all the legal responsibilities for the diagnosis? - the doctor
and who pays - the patient.
So the doctor now has another so-called diagnostic method that he/she needs to take into consideration and accept responsibility for its correct or incorrect diagnosis.
what if it brings up a reading that is of concern but incorrect - what does the doctor do;
how much time, money, concern, worry is created for a range of those parties involved. Doctors, patients, hospital staff, etc.
ummmm IMO
