    I actually welcome Barnaby's coup.

It was becoming clear that ScoMo was trying to inch towards a 2050 zero emission target via incremental adjustments to rhetoric, which eventually would have seen him emerge as a misunderstood and die hard environmentalist.

However, this approach would have led to excruciatingly slow progress and eventually a lukewarm endorsement of such a target, while still needing to appease the lunatic fringe that ScoMo was trying to take with him.

I hope and expect that the election of Barnaby will serve as the eventual catalyst for the more enlightened members of both the Liberal and National parties (especially the farmers who experience the effects fo man made climate change in their daily lives) to assert themselves, set a zero emission target for 2050 and start developing sensible policies that are consistent with achieving that target.

Obviously, I could be wrong, but I see Barnaby's election as an opportunity to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy policy in Australia.

    Go Barnaby go!!!
