The thing I find both interesting and disappointing about Joyce and the other right wing ratbags is that they are living in denial. Truly living in denial.

I heard Joyce on the radio today saying he's there for the farmers, the coal miners etc. Clearly suggesting that others, not just Labor and the Greens, aren't.

Trouble is, the National Farmers Federation has a net zero emissions target by 2050. Farmers are embracing science to improve their practices all across Australia.
He is ignoring that all the big miners are reducing emissions, promoting renewable energy and technology ( even Gina ) and trying to position themselves for the future with bringing manufacturing back to Australia.

Joyce is ignoring that despite what Australia does, the whole world is moving away from fossil. Sure, we'll sell a bit in the interim as the China's and India's industrialize themselves, however the future for coal miners jobs is bleak long term. If we don't plan for the future, we'll go broke.

Joyce should be talking about how he's going to help those coal miners transition to jobs beyond coal so that their kids have sustainable employment. Instead, he's going to lead them over a cliff.

I agree with you that this will bring things to a head. It's just going to be more of the same crap that we've had to put up with for the last decade rather than being smart and moving forward.

I laugh out loud when Joyce criticizes Germany and Denmark. Countries that are years ahead of Australia in just about every way.

Germany, a sophisticated society that has a very robust manufacturing industry that exports things all over the world.

Australia. We dig up rocks, crush them and put them on ships so that we can buy them back as cars.

Who's got the better leadership ?
