Great post Kook, recognise all them mistakes. You must have my computer bugged.
One you've missed - averaging down. Bought a red hot stock that's due to take off any minute. The share price drops a bit and you think, sweet - I'll buy some more at an even cheaper price, so I'll make even more when it bounces back.
Only it doesn't.
Lesson: The trend is your friend as they say in the classics. Never average down a down trending stock- you're only increasing your risk if the SP keeps heading south.
