    Brabus,

In the near term, I don't think the boilers would need to be modified to burn somewhere between 10 and 18% dried material, apart from maybe a baffles at the top end of that range. (Source Boiler engineer at Yallourn and statements by IntPwr Hazelwood.)

That is a demand (for Yallourn only) of between 110 and 220 tph of product (900,000t to 1.8MT pa) - easily enough to make the pilot payable.

Additionally, given that ESI wants 40-60deg process heat, that could be removed from the ducting at back end of the dust precipitators with a very simple (low cost) dry heat exchanger.

    Hotrock,

Agree an issue is the red tape associated with power station input feed in Aus, and that under normal conditions the stations should provide the development capital (but as earlier post had noted) they don't have it. YE is not ever willing to risk long term maint., at present.

However, Aus is ESI's home market, so therefore (IMO) a lower risk place to place a pilot, esp given (IMO again) the coal market is softening in the next 5-10 yrs due to all the marginal mines and technologies coming on stream.

Coal sales may not support ESI revenues sufficently.

We are 100% aligned that licencing is the best route and that proving a viable commercial process is key.
