HELP GUIDE A NEW WINE AND DRINKS COMMUNITY PROJECT AND SCORE A $20 GIFT VOUCHER

One of the (many) things I’m working on at the moment is the scoping and planning for a new wine community project backed by WINEDEPOT.

It’s still very early days, and in a bid to get it right, the team have come up with a survey to gather feedback from people in the wine/drinks industry – and I’m happy to share.

ABOUT ME – ANDREW GRAHAM

At 18, I started working in a small suburban bottleshop, largely to buy cheap beer. It was my first year of university, slogging through physics and chemistry, so a liquor shop seemed like fun. Needless to say, I discovered wine, and my life evolved with a unique dual focus – wine and environment.

Indeed I have both a Masters in Wine Technology & Viticulture from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Resource & Environmental Management from Macquarie University and went to Copywriting School, purely because I just love studying (and am a masochist).

Twenty years since starting as a long-haired, lager-loving teenager and I now spend my days wearing many hats, mostly as a writer, presenter and marketer with a focus on wine, beer and climate change.

I now judge at wine shows around the world, while locally it’s all about wine shows, Wine List of The Year Awards, the GT WINE Cellar Door Awards, Skyscanner Airline Wine List Awards and more.

Currently, I write features for a variety of publications including National Liquor News, The Seniors Magazine, Gourmet Traveller WINE and the RAS, plus I’m a former Lifestyle FOOD channel wine expert.

In 2009 I was crowned as the WCA Wine Journalism Young Gun and more recently I was voted in the Top 30 Best Wine Critics in The World for 2019 and 2020. In my spare time, I’m a sucker for punishment and run trail ultra marathons, much to the delight of my long-suffering family.

This site (Australian Wine Review or ozwinereview for short) is dedicated to talking about wine, beer and other good things. Largely focused on Australian wine, but with a healthy dose of tasty vino from NZ, France, Italy, Spain… oh hell, if it’s good, I’m in.

Wine Events

I’ve hosted and run wine events for some of the most prestigious businesses in the country including CPA Australia, BDO, PwC Australia, KPMG, Ferrier Hodgson and Wines of Argentina (via my other project The Tasting Glass), with events ranging from 8 to over 300 people.
