Basically, you need to buy before the ex dividend date to be eligible for the dividend - if you own shares now then you ill get the dividend. If you have owned GRR shares from the beginning of the year then you should have received the dividend in March. You can sell after the ex-dividend date. That is sort of standard.
Asking for people with wealth seems strange - they probably own shares
