The high levels weren't just found in mussels and sea weed. But sediments and the WATER too
.Concentration of lead in sea water was up to 5000ug/L where natural levels are only .0.1 to 0.01 ug/L Thats 50,000- 500,000 times more that natural.
The blue mussel lead levels remain high between 1981 to 2007 and are marginally dropping but also appear to fluctuate up and down.
The further away you go from the mine the levels have appeared to drop. But unusually the reference point beside the mine continues to remain flatlined and not dropping IMO. Look at the charts! Could this be the effect of the pit water continuing to contribute to the lead and zinc levels mentioned in the former report maintaining these levels as they move in and out of the pit as the top report stated was a cause? Seems very plausible to me. As why wouldnt it be dropping like the others too? Thats definitely twice the supporting evidence as far as Im concerned Thanks Chops!
