@zipperlip; turning our backs to the emergence of modern EV vehicles and fleets equates to what happened in Cuba following the Missile Crisis.
Australia is on track to end up with the developed world's most antiquaited, obsolete, inefficient and productivity-killing vehicles and commercial fleets. It'll soon become the world's filthiest and as major manufacturers desert dirty diesels and other filthy fossil fuel cars, spare parts will become rarer and more expensive.
Moving to EVs is a no-brainer and I suspect many people will be like my wife and I and refuse to replace existing vehicles with similar ones. We'll wait for EVs to become better supported and more readily available - collectively damaging new and used car sales.
