*sigh* this is starting to get pointless.
The believers and disbelievers are not going to budge. We all know of MSB's terrible primary failures vs the astounding secondary successes. None of that is going to change. And now, these conversations are getting pointless to the stage where people are missing the point.
This thread is about "where is Novartis?" And the answer is in discussion with SI and co. The end deal probably WON'T be finalized simply due to what MSB can or cannot prove. SI believes this company is on a winner and will be negotiating BIG time hardball with Novartis, despite that this is still a fledgling company. This may even be to the point where he stubbornly refuses to compromise enough for the deal to eventuate. Maybe. Maybe not. Yet Novartis did not get to where it is today if it didn't know how to play things to their advantage.
The mistake is to just think in terms of yes or no. Think... timing.
If you were Novartis, would you:
- Delay until after the new meeting with the FDA on GvHD to see where you stood?
- Strike the deal beforehand to make sure that any future venture would be more likely to succeed (which would be the case if GvHD got over the line - even if the conditions for approval were lengthy and time consuming)?
- Be more likely to strike a deal sooner in case MSB does get some good news (which would give SI more bargaining power)?
- Be more likely to strike a deal later in case MSB gets more bad news (which would give SI a lot less bargaining power)?
In my opinion (my own opinion only - please do your own research), if I was Novartis, I would be doing my best to throw MSB squarely under the bus. If someone is bargaining from a strong position or even a potentially strong position, then is it not in your interest to weaken their position?
This is the next part of the conversation we should already be having. How could Novartis do this? When could Novartis do this?
FYI - this is my first post after watching for a very long time and am have no intention of responding to any comments.
PS - I hate boring threads.... and goblins...
