Don't get me wrong, I have no idea if BHP's mines are a worthwhile investment. The management of NHC will know far better than any of us.
But even if it is a billion dollar cleanup job (dont' they have bonds set aside to pay for cleanup - or does this mine predate it?) But as with all things related to investing there comes a point in time when everything is worth it. It all comes down to price.
It's all speculation anyway. Either way we'll likely find out what they are up to with the next few months.
