Funny you mention politics, I just find it politically untenable for China to proceed with the project given what's described in those African articles there being multi billion dollars associated investments in highways, ore terminals and mine development the biggest ever on the continent while the whole thing is under a dark cloud in legal no man's land as it were.
Anyways, as Confucius says, may we live in interesting times.
