I had a lengthy talk with my Paris Taxi Driver (PTD) but nothing new emerged.
So, we all occassionally get wrong-footed, and if we dont think so then we've been even more wrong-footed. PTD is convinced NF and team was wrong-footed a few times but the radically changed DRC political climate eventually wrong-footed the masters - big time. History, history now but PTD claims NF and team learned a lot, very quickly from this episode. Unfortunately, the lesson on how to manage investor expectation has not been learned and this could be improved, although for long-term holders its not a material weakness.
This brings us to the current situ. Accepting the above, PTD states it simply a waiting game for everyone whilst AVZ work with DRC to complete ML (for green light) and MSEZ (for bottom line). Contrary to management briefings, this cannot be easily time windowed and so it could well take more months from here. Waiting for it like a dog fixated on retrieving a thrown ball is not the advised approach. However, two things bode well. These two pre-requisite exercises can be achieved within a few months and we are already two months in - or thereabouts. Secondly, both AVZ and critically DRC leadership are keen to progress this project and both understand the incentive for the work to get underway sooner rather than later.
This will get sorted and once it does the PTD predicts that things open up considerably and quickly and that the wait will be finally over for everyone. This opening-up will be to everyones benefit but the exact form is as yet unclear, save to say that PTD cannot see AVZ handling this anymore on their own; in fact its the worlds worst kept secret
