I was never here for NE and to me it's always been an option on silver price appreciation, which might still happen but when? Personally, I think this announcement improves the prospects for settlement significantly because the PM will be able to take a huge political win out of settling with KCN without having to pay any idiot fee. He's already taken a political hit for getting the Thais into this dispute and paying three years+ of legal fees and if he can get them out relatively unscathed it's a big win for him, anyone watching the covid situation in Thailand would know he needs a win. This should speed things up from here because there shouldn't be much left on the table to resolve, as the Thais have been saying publicly that the mine can reopen since Sept 2017.
