Well it was crystal clear that TRY, if not on its last legs, was going to put all of its cash into developing Smarts underground, so Potaro would have just sat there anyway, no matter how prospective.

Under this deal a lot of exploration is likely to be done in an area we could not afford to explore.

And the small amount paid to TRY by Barrick may be just enough to get Smarts underground under way.

This looks like a deal which might just save the company and give real prospects of walking away with something.
