This 1500 sign on bonus is actually a huge negative regarding what is being discussed here. But you flagged it as a positive which shows you really don't understand the crux of the matter.
They get more from the government to stay home so burger king is forced to throw in incentives. This over values labour as an input and pushes up prices. Meanwhile at home those potential workers produce nothing. Money supply increases with the dole outs and this creates rising demand for falling supply - further pushing prices up...see a self-perpetuating cycle here?
