Anyone expecting a cash buyout, which seems to be almost everyone, may be disappointed to learn that the most likely INITIAL outcome is a partnership with milestone payments and royalties.
That's because the valuation will be unclear to both sides.
A buyout of the royalties and remaining milestone payments may follow later.
Please factor this into any retirement planning, car purchases etc.
