It never ceases to amaze me when a stock takes off and newbies join the forum to ask the basic questions. I read up on a stock at least a month before I decide to partake of any shares and only when I have satisfied my risk questions.

Do yourselves a favour if you are new:

1. Research what the company does
2. Read up on management and team
3. Overview the financials, mission and other company docs that will provide most answers
4. Go back over the past year to read up on prior announcements, look at sp trend and CRs done already
5. Reread the financials and company mission (and look at next steps and targets)
6. Look at the competitors and assess the risk
7. Go through the forums and social media sites for the past 6 - 12 months and read
8. By all means ask posters great questions and share info an thoughts
9.The absolute minimum is read and watch company presentations
10. Contact the company and start the dialogue process

Just don't be lazy and ask questions that can be answered from the above
