you have to go back to the announcement on 4th Jan where they mentioned gas pressures of 9,700psi in situ in WE-3, that were close to the design limits of the well. I think others on HC at the time talked about a higher rated BOP needing to be sourced with a rating up to 15,000psi. I very much doubt that the steel casing is an issue, especially since it's been cemented in place. Other components are likely to fail well before the casing splits under pressure.
