Well, Mesoblast Ltd shareholders should be quaking in their boots about this one.....
I've set out below an extract from the opinion and order made in [Rel. 20-CV-09111 (PMH)] by PHILIP M. HALPERN, United States District Judge. The good judge, in making the order to consolidate the claims against Mesoblast Ltd in the New York actions, in part said this:
So, this monstrously huge case is what the AFR has been beating up Mesoblast Ltd with in the Australian share market. Wow.
To reiterate - the greatest financial loss claimed was approx. US$60,230. So, the biggest after-tax cost to Mesoblast Ltd's balance sheet is apparently mostly the NY lawyers fees in filing & defending.
No wonder Australian companies have difficulty getting offshore - the 'tall poppy' syndrome in this country is a killer. And the lack of journalistic talent can only be explained in terms of a complete unwillingness to conduct scientific, or even reliable, factual research
