FMG is one of the largest emitters of carbon in Australia
some 2MT pa is emitted by FMG

The attempts to sugar coat & change this are a PR stunt just painting over this truth.
And 9 years is a very long time.
And Hydrogen energy is also one of the highest carbon emitting processes also especially if using natural gas/methane CH4 as the majority do as carbon byproducts & energy used exceed that created.
And jet airliners emit massive amounts of carbon too, especially when travelling Perth to Hawaii for lunch for no good reason.
And the chinese IO refineries that process FMG IO into steel are pumping way way more than that from Scope 3 emissions.

And as for Tesla, Well Musk refuses to use Hydrogen calling it stoopid and he uses EV battery power mostly nickel and natgas even for his SpaceX rockets. So Tesla knows better I guess.

"Fortescue Metals Group, the iron ore miner which emits two million tonnes of carbon per year, has announced it will go carbon neutral in nine years' time, well before the world's biggest carbon emitting economies are planning...Asked if his company's carbon footprint should include the emissions generated when his iron ore is processed overseas — so-called Scope 3 emissions — Mr Forrest said he thinks "that is a bridge too far".

The suggestion that this is a green investment is incorrect, its the dirtiest there can be.
An inconvenient truth.
