I think a deal could come out of the blue at any stage and with little if any warning as big pharma evaluates their future options. Novartis in particular would seem to be under pressure. We don't actually know what discussions may have already occurred, but I think the CEO would want full value and big pharma would be reluctant if they believe they have alternatives. However one by one, those alternatives have gone down the gurgler.
