I would love to answer your question immediately, but inspired by the astral discussion, I am busily doing some calcs in relation to correlation of moon phases and the stock market behaviour (in particular, the stock market volatility index as it seems to be the only intuitively plausible premise). When I am finished (and this may take a while, sorry, uni/math was some time ago) then I might just turn towards your little problem :)
