I think that about sums it up for me. Benefits go to business, the reciprocal is that With more people there is larger pressure on services and things like healthcare, which means you being in even more to counter it.
Trouble is countering all the time is counter productive overall. Because then services have to be sold off by Governments to business as they can’t afford to operate at a governmental level.
Then services , when business buy them, decline because business tries to cut corners. And if you do this with healthcare it’s ‘Welcome to America (which doesn’t function for the average Joe) or have a good but massively overburdened NHS’
Thus society gets worse and worse and people vote Brexit and do things like that.
Then politicians realise they are proverbially ‘cattle trucked’ and the whole thing start to cave without some realisation that the economic model that got you there, America’s Monetarism, doesn’t actually work.
Not until you run out of poor countries to feed the greed or the poor rebel and kick fkg rich plankton out of office. (That will be the inevitable position for the West - it’s just a matter of when)
Keynesianism works and sheer greed doesn’t - but go tell Wall Street and rest of the West’s corrupted system, where Governments fall into line on promises of wealth downstream from “Service” (now there is a flipping oxymoron).
