What people don't realise about AFL is that in a world-sense, AFl is a minority novelty ethnic game; a re-hashed version of Gaelic football,where - whether one likes it on or not - is not a mainstream game.
Show this game to anyone else in the world, and they'll be scratching their heads wondering if anyone actually takes this silly sport seriously?
Football (Soccer)- ok - that's a world mainstream game a man can understand; Athletics,Basketbal; ok - even the Rugby games are international.
If I had to select a minority ethnic game to watch - it would be American Football,but definately not AFL.
Even poker on One channel is more fascinating...
I know this will be unpalatable to Victorians,etc...but these are just a few of the reasons why AFL will never conquer the world ( or QLD or NSW)... just sharing a perspective of someone who originates from Outside Australia....just my opinion...
