yes, sport is for enjoyment....the majority of Australians enjoy Aussie rules despite it not being played on the international stage, that alone suggests it has a fair bit going for it: the fact it can be so successful without the "jingoistic" element of national representation.
So what if we don't dominate athletics on the international stage, it's little wonder when most of our best athletes end up in AFL and the rugbies.
