Immigrants whose academic crediantials have to be qualified or supplemented naturally have to work casual jobs until they are accepted by our AMA or CPA unions etc. (and they are unions, IMO) For example an ex tenant had to wait over a year to have his qualifications as a CPA recognised and during which time he worked two jobs; one in an Indian restaurant and he other with HR Block in a shopfront tax service office.
Now I'm pleased to say that he is the CFO in a publicly listed company with a salary & benefits package in excess of $500K/p/a
