BBP would only win new contracts if they can directly supply power to the desal plants.

An example of this type of contract is the new contract with BHP at Olympic Dam. BHP are the asset owner of the only transmission lines that connect Olympic Dam to the grid. The connection is at Davenport Substation and this is where BBP have their power station.

Otherwise, BBP are just like any other power generator who sells electricity at wholesale prices.

A new desal plant is going to be built at Port Stanvac in SA, however as there is no power generator near by, the desal plant will be buying power of the grid.
