If you and any overseas soccer followers understood the rules and opened the mind to something other than round ball (which mind u I enjoy but not even close to as skillfull or fascinating or a spectacle as AFL), you might realise that you are looking at one of the best team sports in the world.

It favours teamwork, rewards skill and (most importantly) courage and is immensely difficult to play (both physically and skillfully). To suggest otherwise is evidence that the you or the prson who knocks it has never attempted this game.

As for your other comments refering to athletics ....what skills are in athletics that AFL does not require?

It would have to be the most athletic demanding sport in the world or very close to it.

I have plenty of mates here in Australia from overseas that can see that AFL is far superior in nearly every way in skill, fitness, agility, speed, strenght, tactics, courageous, and the list goes on.

They still watch soccer.....but dont try to compare the uncomparable.

Soccer is a world sport.....its a good sports but its nothing even close to AFL or Rugby league for that matter.

I guess its hard to compare a mens sports with girl sports.

Hows when soccer players cry when they are ankle tapped....absolute girls.

Australia was kicked out of the woprld cup becuase of one.....yeah great game.....decided by umpires.
