What does "stand alone" or conglomerate have to do with a company's success at turning a profit in BNPL at this stage?

The major BNPL companies are already established players and don't need to fight against any new entrants in terms of solidifying their presence in the scene.

They obviously do have to fight for market share. Yet how would that be different if they were a conglomerate like Apple?

You seem to believe just because Apple is so massive, that they automatically obliterate all competition somehow and become the only ones capable of turning profit.

Now Apple is involved in BNPL, you MUST concede that BNPL as a business model has the ability to turn profit. Put aside which company you think could do it in the end. The very fact Apple is now involved in BNPL outside of their own products now means they see a path to profitability.

So now Apple is involved, do you finally believe BNPL in general (not talking about just Zip or Afterpay specifically) has the ability to turn a profit?
