"it is for the average retail consumer who cannot to afford a full-payment, such that they would need to split a $100 bill into 4 separate payments"

It's certainly welcomed by that demographic, but saying it's only for people who cannot afford things without BNPL is incorrect.

Maybe I'm an aberration, but I use Zip and Afterpay and I'm by no means unable to pay for purchases up-front. I choose to not leave cash in bank accounts and instead put it to work for me, so my options are credit card or other forms of credit such as BNPL. I get paid fortnightly and what I get paid is more than enough to completely pay by balances on BNPL. All my purchases I've made with Zip and Afterpay (and credit card
) I paid off next payday.

Next pay I currently plan on using most of it to top up on Zip shares - this price is a good opportunity... or perhaps I should take your inferred advice and keep it in the bank instead - so I have spare cash to purchase things without having to use BNPL like a poor person.
