IMO, CSL sold the Government a cheap pup: -AZ costs $6/jab while Pfizer costs $26/jab -CSL was more interested in making a business out of AZ than protecting the Australian public & ScoMo Inc swallowed that hook line & sinker, IMO..
Countries that rejected AZ early in the piece (eg USA & Israel) are miles ahead of us now in roll out and we'll simply have to wait until these advanced countries are fully vaccinated before we get consistent supply in volume, IMO. In other words, we'll get the manufacturer's warehouse excess stock without the discount!
We were slack in not recognising the reasons that the USA, Canada & European countries were giving the dump to AZ & switching to mRNA because, IMO, we had wagered on AZ and failed to recognise that it was one of the last nags leading up to the winning post I've had my second jab of Pfizer 3 weeks ago & I'm very pleased with the result. No headaches or side effects & I'm advised by my GP that I enjoy 96% vaccine efficacy.
