People in the Philippines are giving up their day jobs to go into gaming full time to earn SLP (also now on binance) which they can then convert to cash. SLP is an in game reward for playing, completing tasks, winning battles etc.

People with bachelor degrees quiting their jobs to earn more playing games - this was before the prices for SLP shot up. Generally speaking they can't afford to buy the Axies (Pokemon type characters with different traits) they need to start playing the game (looks to be around $1k USD for the three character team you need) so they (scholars) play other players (mentors) characters for a split of the profits. However, I understand you can earn 150 SLP a day or $50usd or there abouts from the game (maybe more now) so you earn the investment back in 20 days plus any appreciation in the value of the Axies or capital gain from breeding and selling more Axies. Actually a pretty amazing ROI.

If they can keep the DAU increasing and avoid devaluing the SLP this thing could take off hugely from here.
