I used to work with a man who believed, incredibly, that because he was a 'good' Christian, his wild speculative share investments would receive preferential treatment from God. How could anybody believe such a thing? (And how could they fail to see the hypocrisy?) But such people are out there: some of them selling investment products, some of them running nations, some of them just prosecuting wars. After a while, my colleague's wife intervened and banned him from the share market, before he sent them both bust.
