Hanrahan, I've never read that observation of your on HC so I'm not ignoring you. You realise that a data set of 1 does not make a statistical observation! That was my point above. You say you're not sinking so no one else is. It just doesn't work like that. The earth is a complicated place.
People will make money out of carbon trading. I believe this is a good thing. Anything that enables a proper cap and trade system to operate efficiently is a good thing, IMO. I would also much rather speculation occurred in carbon derivatives than in sub-prime collateralised debt obligations - look where that got us! The people who dreamt these schemes up made a truck load and the rest of us are carrying the can.
Anyway, those of you who think climate change is a conspiracy, carbon trading is a scam, emissions are a scam, cap and trade is a scam, Al Gore is a con artist etc etc etc will be looking down the barrel of a very, very rude awakening in the next few years. So I guess I am not suprised you are going down kicking and screaming as much as you are!
