Something isn't right with all this - I don't have any evidence but if indeed a strategic investor/buyout is on the cards, the shorts would seem to have driven the price right down for this purpose. It makes no sense from a risk perspective for this many shorts to still have open positions right before a quarterly and with buyout rumours being published in both AFR and The Australian. As much as I'd love to believe it, either the rumours are complete sh*t, or the major shorts and working with a large buyer - there's no way this many professional shorters are about to find themselves caught out with potential warnings from their own networks and now two articles putting it on the radar.
