Well whoever is shorting it is irrelevant I guess. If I was in charge of Zip, I'd just up the premium that I'd accept for a take over no matter who made an offer.
The directors should assume anyone making a take over bid at these prices is potentially in bed with instos that are responsible for the major short attack. Therefore only entertain truely outlandishly high offers to buy the company and push twice as hard in negotiations.
Even throw an extra billion on top at the end as a "fk you" for even trying to get away with such bullshit.
