It is completely understandable that a genuine investor might wait for the definitive bandwagon to arrive with 100% certainty before buying Mesoblast stock. There would naturally be a trading halt if the bandwagon effect was price sensitive.

On the other hand, there is the guide of history. The largest rise in share price in 1 day on ASX wasn’t OCC i.e. 347% in one trading day. It was actually Stemcell (ASX:SCU) on March 14, 2017. After the day finished I understand it was up 3054%.

How did that affect individuals bidding for shares in healthcare on that day? Impossible to generalise, of course - some only paid 200% or 300% of the price prior to opening. Others obviously bought in at 3053% of the pre-opening price.

If you are genuine & there were, say, only 1000 investors whose trading/ investing strategy is identical to yours, and they were determined to buy all available stock on Mesoblast’s big day, you must admit something similar might happen.

And if you were happy to accept a return on that investment, at that price, whatever it may be, then great!
