I do not think guns and ammo are hard to come by anywhere in Africa! The UN has warned Eritrea against arming the Islamist rebels in the south of Somalia, and the US have also recently warned US ally Ethiopia from re-entering the country (even though it is). Yep, guns everywhere.
hajda, hajda, hajda. Puntland is not about to "defect". Nyet, not yet anyway. Anyway surely you mean "secede"? One must remember also that Somalia is a relatively modern country and it should come as no surprise if the boundaries change or new states emerge, or even if the seat of power becomes somewhere altogether different. South Sudan for instance looks to be readying itself to secede in coming years.
