Hi Plough, I understand battery coating tech is aimed at increasing economic lifespan of battery (not capacity) therefore I am not sure your example is relevant.
Happy to be proven wrong.
I think tech is designed to limit the loss of Lithium Ions that become entangled and locked (my words) in the graphite anode on the initial charge. I have not seen clear numbers on how much longer a battery will last once anode is coated but it could be significant for a relatively small additional cost.
