"Wishing anyone ill is poor form" agreed. Ethically I should not wish anyone ill, and really I don't enjoy seeing people having to sell up their house etc ... but by the same token ethically people really shouldn't short and wish ill on the company and the share holders.
"Shorters are here whether we like it or not" agreed too. And those who hate shorters are here too, like it or not.
"They make the market ebb-and-flow, they strengthen rallies, they help overvalued stocks find their true price." disagreed. The market can ebb-and-flow without shorters.
"...you can buy a unit off the plan even though it doesn't exist yet, you can buy a car that is on demo at a car show even though it hasn't entered production yet, etc. etc." agreed, but buying a unit off the plan or a car on demo has no parallel to shorting.
