I am happy for PC to ensure people don't speculate on BTA but instead, invest in BTA.
If you look at the SP since swine flu outbreak and PC's comments, you can see the early speculation bubble was popped but still investors (and speculators) have managed to push the price up in a seemingly stable way. The SP has held up.
The more stable the SP, the more institutional investors can look at BTAs earnings and SP stability and consider it as an investment grade stock. No one wants to invest in BTA if there is a real risk of capital loss.
GSK have indicated they believe Relenza has moved from patchy pandemic stock pile sales to a steady income generator due to the 60 odd countries looking to buy for stockpiles. This means there should be a step change in the perception of BTA as an investment grade Biotech, not just a speculative Biotech stock.
