I have said for a long time that the Olympics should be centralised in Greece. They should be helped to set it up and will require little assistance for upgrading the infrastructure for succeeding Olympics.
This is madness where the successful bidders go into hock in an increasingly difficult economic environment to upstage previous venues. Hara-kiri anyone? And then you have the power-crazed Oz Olympic supremo embarrassing the Premier in front of a world audience. If I was the Premier I would instruct everyone in Govt to refuse to co-operate with the megalomaniac.
