It sounds counterintuitive, but management of companies in MAN's position are actually incentivised to not explore, or to do so very slowly and "drag it out" as it were. They're getting paid, and they know it's mostly over after that money runs out.
Biggest thing to look for in an explorer is a genuine eagerness to actually find something. Otherwise you're just paying corporate welfare. MAN took far too long to do anything and were far too quiet this whole time, it's no surprise they're not being vocal now.
