I know that question isn't directed at me, but I have an answer to that question. And apologies for any noise this might create in the copper focused thread

Below is a link to DEG's video for their announcement yesterday, and it will take you to 1min 40s. Listen for 80s

Essentially, for what looks like a reserve of 1Moz+ they scraped the surface and found 1m at 2g/t, only just reaching the intrusion rock. They later put an RC drill in and found 99m @ 1g/t. Fast forwards to now, and you'll see 272m @ ~1.2g/t.

What did CNB find? The same thing.... a meter or two at 3.2g/t (if I remember right) with the same geology as DEG.

That's why people are excited. Punt? Yes. Long shot? Likely a long shot with respect to finding a 6.8Moz ore body, yes. But a commercially viable body in a soon-to-be tier 1 gold producing area.... maybe not that long a shot.

Oh... then there's the copper story that this thread shows is unfolding - in my view, not a long shot at all. But my view is meaningless.... listen to the geologists here that know the geology of this area as well as CNBs own geologists.

side note... there's definitely a little cheer squad action in CNB too, stemming from the excitement. As with the anti-cheer squad, I pick up facts from the releases and inferences from the knowledgeable (+ve or -ve), and I find myself firmly in the fact-cheer squad
