No the active ingredient in Adequan is polysulfated glycosaminoglycan (PSGAG) not pentosan polysulfate (PPS).
Re above, if someone has time, it might be worth updating the PPS wiki page with links to current research, as the wiki page currently states "PPS has been studied in knee osteoarthritis, though evidence to support such use is poor as of 2003".
